Jari Anttonen, also known as fantastinen.ai, is a self-taught visual artist currently based in Helsinki, Finland. With a background in design and over two decades in the creative industry, he began exploring generative image-making in 2023. What started as a curiosity quickly evolved into a full-time artistic pursuit. His work gravitates toward the surreal and bizarre, often challenging traditional notions of beauty by finding appeal in the grotesque and embracing ambiguity over clear narratives. Rather than using AI to emulate existing styles, Jari approaches these tools as instruments of discovery—testing conflicting prompt structures, remixing outputs across different Midjourney versions, and letting the unexpected drive the process forward. His work has been published in several international publications and displayed in exhibitions around the world. Jari’s prompts and images are featured in Spells Volume 2.
